Combating Human Trafficking in Nepal

Our History

Our journey began a few years back with a group of young, compassionate, and visionary individuals who recognized the urgent need to take action against human trafficking in Nepal. Driven by a shared commitment to justice and human dignity, we initially began working informally—offering support and assistance directly to those affected.

As our efforts grew, so did the need for structure. We transitioned into an official organization to collaborate more effectively with government agencies, access necessary resources, and reduce operational barriers.

In our early days, we focused on education—providing free schooling and scholarships to survivors of trafficking and those at high risk. This foundational work not only helped restore hope and opportunity to those affected but also laid the groundwork for the broader, multi-faceted mission we carry forward today.

Our project is completely focused on striving to address the current issues of human trafficking that happen in Nepal through education, awareness and vocational training for the vulnerable community.

Vision & Mission Statements

A Nepal where every girl and woman rises beyond exploitation, thrives with confidence, and leads a life shaped by choice, not circumstance.

Core Values

Dignity, justice, equity, empowerment.

Message from the Founder

I take this honor and privilege, as the Founder and Director of Naya Paila, to share the message of our work and the passion that drives us every day. Before establishing this organization, I spent more than a decade working with various national and international agencies. Throughout that journey, I witnessed countless stories of pain, suffering, and injustice caused by human trafficking. These experiences profoundly shaped my understanding and strengthened my resolve to stand beside those whose voices are so often silenced.

Naya Paila was officially registered in accordance with the laws of Nepal after several years of dedicated grassroots work. During those formative years, we gained deep insights into the rapidly escalating crisis of internal human trafficking, particularly the exploitation and sex trade deeply rooted within Nepal’s entertainment sector.

Today, Naya Paila is actively engaged in rescue and intervention efforts, working closely with the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau (AHTB) and other key stakeholders. Together, we identify and rescue minor girls from exploitative environments, ensuring their immediate safety, protection, and dignity.

However, rescue is only the beginning. Through strong partnerships with local NGOs, we provide comprehensive rehabilitation services, including safe shelter, trauma-informed counseling, legal support, and educational opportunities. Our scholarship and reintegration programs are designed to help survivors rebuild their lives with confidence, dignity, and hope. On the prevention side, we conduct community awareness programs to reduce vulnerabilities and empower families and communities to stand firmly against trafficking.

Legal advocacy remains a vital pillar of our mission. We assist survivors in filing cases against perpetrators and guide them through the legal process with compassion, transparency, and professionalism—working tirelessly to ensure justice is pursued.

At Naya Paila, our team is deeply committed to combating internal human trafficking in Nepal—from rescue to rehabilitation, reintegration, and prevention. We are driven by a shared vision of creating lasting, meaningful change and restoring hope in the lives of the children and families we serve.

Together, we strive for a future where every girl is safe, valued, and free from exploitation.

While women and girls are at higher risk and are a major focus, we also include boys and young men in our awareness, education, and community-based initiatives, because prevention requires the involvement of everyone.

We currently operate in and around Kathmandu, and few districts of Nepal with plans to expand to other high-risk and underserved regions as our capacity and resources grow.
